Brother Matt riles up students on Front Campus, Tues. Oct. 21as he preaches and condemns in the school's free speech zone. Impassioned audiences argued and refuted the evangelist. The free speech zone has attracted many outspoken subjects in the past including the infamous Brother Micah, also an evangelist.

Regardless of whether you agree with what was being said, does it not bother anyone that a government entity (Georgia College & State University) has a "free speech zone"? My reading of the Constitution is such, given incorporation, that government may not infringe upon our right to speak freely. (Continued…)

The way I see it, the zone isn't such that you can only speak freely in that area, but as an encouragement. While you can speak freely anywhere, the free speech zone might thought more of as a "speech zone", a way to organize and have a designated area to hear interesting and new, perhaps radical ideas. Roy (if I may call you that), the dominant interpretation is that no right guaranteed by the Bill of Rights is absolute. A number of court cases, for instance, have restricted the right to free speech. (Continued…)
